How to Setup an Email Account in Microsoft Outlook 2013

 

This guide will show step-by-step instructions for setting up E-mail on Outlook 2013 for Windows. While it can be used for other versions of Outlook, some screens and steps might vary.

     Note: * You must create the email address on your Control Panel prior to setting it up in Outlook 2013.

               * Make sure your DNS is pointed to our servers.

 

      Step 1.   When you first open the Outlook, you will see "Welcome to Outlook 2013" message, click the Next button.

      Step 2.   Then it will ask "Do you want to set up Outlook to connect to an email account?" choose Yes and click the Next button.

      Step 3.   In the Auto Account Setup menu, select the option for Manual setup or additional server types, then click the Next button.

                    

 

      Step 4.   In the Choose Service menu, click the POP or IMAP option then click the Next button.

      Step 5.   You will see the POP and IMAP Account Settings menu, kindly fill-up the fields.

                    

                     Below is the description of the fields:

                        5.1. Enter your preferred name. For example: Juan B. dela Cruz

                        5.2. Enter your full email address. For example: j.delacruz@pilipinas.org.ph

                        5.3. Choose if you want to use POP or IMAP. By default, POP downloads and removes your emails from the server, while IMAP imitates your emails and leaves them on the server.

                        5.4. Enter the incoming mail server and the outgoing mail server(SMTP): mail.domain.com (Replace domain.com with your actual domain). For example: mail.pilipinas.org.ph

                        5.5. Enter your full email address into the User Name field and your password for this email address.

                               For example:

                                  User Name: j.delacruz@pilipinas.org.ph

                                  Password: ************

                        5.6. Put a check mark on the Remember password, so Outlook will save your password.

 

      Step 6.   Click More Settings button.

                    

 

      Step 7.   Click the Outgoing Server tab, then click My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, and Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

               

        

      Step 8.   Click Advanced tab.

                        Enter your settings, below is a description of the available options. 

                           Incoming Server (POP3): 993 (for IMAP use port: 995)  Security: SSL

                                           *Note: Most of the times, IMAP setting is used for mobile devices.

                                 > U se the following type of encrypted connection: None

                            Outgoing Server (SMTP): 465 Security: TLS/SSL

                                 > Use the following type of encrypted connection: None

                                                    *Note: Often times, Internet Service Provider will block this port. You may want to consider using port 587.


                    

    

      Step 9.   Click the OK button.

      Step 10. Click the Next button, Outlook will now test the account settings.

                    

     Step 11. When the status for Log onto incoming mail server, and the Send test e-mail message tasks have completed, click the Close button.

     Step 12. You will see a message stating "You're all set!", click the Finish button.

9) Enter the incoming and outgoing mail servers. On a typical setup, this is mail.example.com where example.com would be replaced with your actual domain name.

10) Enter your email address into the User Name field

12) Click More Settings

13) Click the Outgoing Server tab

14) Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication, then click OK

15) Click Next

16) If the automated test comes back with green check-marks, you should see the following screen. If not, please contact our support team so that we can help you troubleshoot the issue.
